Traditionally, to reach your target audience of wholesale buyers your options were limited to tradeshows and trade magazines. Until now, there really hasn't been a digital channel to reach wholesale buyers.
Newsfeeds has changed that, it's a channel populated exclusively with wholesale foodservice buyers – thousands and thousands of them – and provides an extremely powerful tool to win new customers.
Newsfeeds are designed specifically to reach wholesale buyers operating in FMCG, foodservice, hospitality, and grocery. This means every post you make reaches a highly relevant audience, maximizing your marketing efforts.
There are plenty of channels to reach consumers. Instagram, Facebook, Google and other social media channels just target consumers, not wholesale buyers. Consumers and wholesale buyers are two extremely different audiences, so you can't reach both audiences in the same channel – if you try, you'll find it's not just ineffective, it can backfire badly, confusing everyone.
Unlike every other marketing channel, posting to Newsfeeds is free and easy. It basically works like a social media channel except it has the major benefit of an audience 100% targeted on wholesale foodservice buyers.
By posting regularly to your Newsfeeds you’re getting your products and brand in front of your audience – and potential new customers – more often, planting a seed and reminding them to order.
"Managing clients and pricing with Upstock has truly made my life easier. The ability to promote our products inside the Newsfeed has been a great feature as well. Do yourself a favour and make the move to Upstock."
We recommend posting to Newsfeeds at least once a week, generally more is better (but no more than once per day) to maintain consistent visibility, keeping your brand top of mind and at the forefront of their purchasing decisions, right at the moment wholesale buyers are in a purchasing mindset.
Make sure your brand remains visible, engaging and relevant with a variety of content.
If you have a social media manager or marketing person, you should have them manage your Newsfeeds. It’s free to invite them to your Upstock account, and they can ensure your posts are strategic, timely, and effective.
When you write a post, you can target a specific audience. The options are:
Your existing customers will see your posts in the "Your suppliers" section of their Newsfeed. This includes posts from all suppliers they’re connected to, similar to following someone on social media.
All other Upstock users (plus, your existing customers) will see your posts in the "Discover" section of their Newsfeed.
Posts are also shown on your supplier profile.
Currently, posts are only shown in the Upstock app – only logged in users will see posts, not the general public.
This feature is available at no additional charge as part of every paid plan.
